This Acceptable Use Policy describes how you may and may not use Murmur. It applies to all users of the app and works alongside our Terms of Service. Violating this policy may result in restriction or termination of your account.
1. Purpose
Murmur is designed as a personal space to capture your own thoughts and memories. This policy exists to keep the Service safe, lawful, and reliable for everyone.
2. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to use Murmur to create, store, or transmit content that:
- Is illegal under applicable law, including the laws of India and the jurisdiction in which you reside
- Threatens, harasses, or incites violence against any individual or group
- Depicts or promotes child sexual abuse material in any form
- Infringes the intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights of others
- Contains malicious code, or is intended to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to our systems or the systems of others
- Impersonates another person or misrepresents your affiliation with any person or entity
- Facilitates fraud, scams, or other deceptive practices
3. Prohibited Conduct
In addition to prohibited content, you agree not to:
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to another user's account or data
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or interfere with the Service's underlying systems
- Use automated tools (such as bots or scrapers) to access the Service without our prior written permission
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent any security or access control measures
- Use the Service to violate the acceptable use policies of our third-party providers, including Firebase, Cloudflare, AWS, OpenAI, or the Google Play Store
4. Abuse Prevention
We reserve the right to monitor for patterns of abuse at a systems level (such as unusual account activity or signs of automated misuse) in order to protect the integrity of the Service. This does not involve manual review of the content of your personal recordings during normal operations, consistent with our AI Transparency Policy and Security and Data Protection Policy.
5. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of a violation of this policy, please report it to us using the contact information below. We will review reports and take appropriate action, which may include investigation, warnings, content removal, or account suspension.
6. Account Restrictions
We reserve the right to restrict, suspend, or terminate your access to the Service if we determine, in our reasonable judgment, that you have violated this Acceptable Use Policy or our Terms of Service. Where feasible, we will attempt to notify you of the reason for any such action.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or other reasonable means.
